The comfortable Waikiki armchair is crafted from turned beech wood and complemented by brass brackets, elastic straps, and padded upholstery. The components fit together seamlessly, thanks to a construction based on the principle of tensegrity, which balances tensile and compressive forces without the use of screws or glue. Inspired by the „Safari chair“ -- a folding chair used by British officers in the late 19th century -- the design emphasizes effortless disassembly, which is reflected in its overall visual language. This approach promotes material circularity and allows for easy replacement of components if needed.
